Welcome to the Mime Troupe!

Sadie le Mime is a coming-of-age indie short film. It explores themes of adolescence, belonging, and the power of creativity. The film is wrapped in a whimsical, nostalgic world that we built piece by piece, often rebuilding it more than once.

The Filmmaking Journey

Making this film was as much about the journey as the story itself. We faced numerous on-set challenges. One memorable day, a key prop mirror shattered mid-shoot. This forced us to scramble, rethink the scene, and keep the momentum going. Thankfully, we had insurance—a true unsung hero of indie filmmaking. Our incredibly resourceful team turned setbacks into creative wins.

This experience reminded me how essential it is to have a strong first AD keeping everything on track. A great sound mixer on set is also crucial. No matter how beautiful a shot is, it only works if the production runs smoothly and the audio holds up.

My Role in Production

We are currently submitting Sadie le Mime to film festivals. I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together. This project marked my first time serving as a production supervisor from start to finish. It completely changed how I see filmmaking.

Transitioning from acting to the production side gave me a deeper appreciation for every moving part. I learned about problem-solving, collaboration, and yes, even the unexpected chaos. I kind of like that chaos, to be honest!

Behind the Scenes

The behind-the-scenes moments are often the most memorable. For instance, we had a day when everything seemed to go wrong. The lighting was off, and we had to adjust on the fly. But those moments brought us closer as a team. We laughed, we cried, and we created something beautiful together.

The Importance of Teamwork

Teamwork is vital in filmmaking. Each person plays a crucial role. From the director to the sound mixer, everyone contributes to the final product. I learned to value each role and how they intertwine to create a cohesive film.

Looking Ahead

As we submit Sadie le Mime to various film festivals, I am excited about what lies ahead. I look forward to sharing our story with a broader audience. This journey has been transformative, and I am eager to see how it resonates with viewers.

Thank you to the crew and cast for being part of this journey with us!
